Taking a deep breath

It's official! The loan is closed and we sign in 3 days!

We walked around the house today after work for the final walk through and I'm pretty confident I haven't been this excited in a long time. I practically jumped and ran through the house.

We measured again for those pretty rugs to make sure they will fit and measured other odds and ends. I also noticed that our first level ceilings are really tall and our great room/living room is very very very tall (I jokingly told Seth we should put a a basketball hoop in this room. Good luck painting, hun! :)

Now we just have a long moving weekend ahead of us!

Thursday: Signing the Contracts. Moving everything from our one bedroom apt. to the house (also our internet, sectional, and refrigerator are all being delivered this day- Seth is not messing around with this stuff...he is ready to be there!)

Friday: with the help of family, loading up all of our boxed up belongings and furniture that have sat for a year in Seth's brother's basement

Saturday: Unloading and unpacking with family

Sunday-Wednesday: watering our sad, dehydrated grass, trimming bushes, getting everything in its place and making it ours.

oh happy day!

let the furnishing begin!

Well, we have had a productive week and have now successfully purchased that beautiful sectional and luxurious refrigerator. But, as of one hour ago, I'm more excited about what I purchased this evening on Rugs USA.

You guessed it....rugs!

With such large spaces in Timber I assumed that a cheap, DIY rug was our only logical option, but the sale going on at rugsusa.com almost made me pee my pants.

75% off summer sale.

I just purchased these beauties

we got this rug for our living room in the 8x11 size
$932.00 $233.00!

this rug was pruchased for our entry way (at least that's what I've got my mind set on)
$426.00 $106.50 for a 5x8 size!

and just for the fun of it and because I can't control myself with this kind of price, this rug will be perfect for one of the hallways or even possibly the kitchen.
$219.00 $54.75

Aren't they lovely!?

We feel really good about these selections. We have measured these rooms and already discussed the sizes of rugs we want and Polyvore has helped with making sure it will look great.

Best yet is that they will be delivered within the first few days of living there and there is a 30 day return policy (should anything not work out).

So here are two mood boards:

to sit and stay for awhile

Buying a house is seriously a really fun time. Of course you can hit a few road blocks and bumps, but we have been smooth sailing so far! Our loan will be officially closed within the next few days and we will start purchasing some key beginning items for our home.

First on our shopping list for Timber is 'Evan' (hello, super cute, comfy, modern, affordable sectional) from Macy's.

Second, a refrigerator with more shelves than I will ever know what to do with and a light that makes us go "ewww....ahhh" every time we open the doors.

Third, is my first DIY project for the new home. I have been set on getting a large navy rug for our living room and this just seems like our best option for now. I have been talking about painting a rug for 2 years now and I plan on doing this during my vacation the first week in July!

And strangely, I'm almost equally excited about buying a lawn mower, screen door, paint, and mulch. So weird, right?
