Progress: Half Bath

we are starting small here.

this was the hardest room to paint ever...but it was a good place to start making our house become a home. It is also pretty cheap to decorate a half bath...another good reason for starting here. I made this mood board below for my inspiration for the room.

I wanted to work with what I already had and keep it pretty simple. My goal was to make the hand towel the color in the room. All in all I spent around $30 on this room. The hand towel and bathmat are both from World Market (I also scored two other hand towels on clearance that I can switch out anytime I want). The wall decor is just simple place mats from Pier 1 that I got back in 2009. They have been in every apartment since we got married and they are great wall decor...cheap too!

Forgive me for my poor photos.
I am too lazy to take real pictures and it is incredibly hard to take photos of a half bath!

Checkpoint (and a ton of pictures)

It has been awhile since my last update.
At times I felt like writing a post, but also felt that nothing had really been accomplished or changed at the house. But now, after going through lots of phone photos I can't believe all the things that we fit into the last part of our summer.

I will let the pictures do the talking.

Things are finally starting to go up on the walls!
This is just a start, but I started a little collage above our media cabinet.
Kudos to my husband for figuring out how to connect our blue-ray and ruko box wirelessly.
Our mounted TV has no cords around it. halleluiah!

We now have 3 rooms painted in this huge house!
During a week in August my husband was gone for the week playing music and I invited two friends from church over to help me paint.
3 rooms/ 3 nights!
I chose to do the three bathrooms for starters and I love the colors.
The half bath and guest bath are this pretty grey and the master is a lighter more "griege" look.
My grandparents, mom, and cousin came to visit and helped us pick out our lawn mower and grill. Grandpa loaded up his van and we worked on assembling everything before they left.
 I have an amazing family.
My mom and cousin putting together our lawn mower (which still hasn't been used!)
Our grass is so dead.
Darn this drought.
Numerous baths with Pretty Little Liars for entertainment.
Not only have I watched (and been addicted) from the beginning but now I am re-watching everything on Netflix.
cute cat and a cute rug. no other captions needed.
our favorite pastime is watching the clouds from our couch with Pandora on in the background.
 I cut my bangs.
My husband has never said that he likes them, but he doesn't oppose them anymore.
The prettiest girl in the world could have bangs and he would comment on them and how he does not like bangs. I can sweep them to the side still but the change has been fun!
once again....cute cat and a cute rug :)
My husband celebrated his 25th birthday and we joined family at BJ's for dinner.
Love this place and their dessert menu! Good choice Seth!
Many beautiful evening walks in our neighborhood.
I love this city so much.
Minor league baseball games with friends
I have started this incredibly daunting task of painting/stenciling the wall in our closet.
It is taking way too long and is no longer fun.
Thinking about painting over it and doing the whole sponge rolling stencil technique instead.
Either way I think it will look awesome...I just want it done before I'm 50.
 My best friend got married!
Congrats Mary dear!
We spent an evening in the Lofts Hotel in downtown Columbus for a getaway during my staycation last week.
It was the perfect little getaway and it was fun exploring this city a little more.
Exploring the Short North during my staycation

That's it for now. Hoping to start doing some before/after and progress pictures soon!
