Projects

I don't know what it is but I have been itching for some good DIY projects lately. It could have to do with the fact that my house looks empty without my Christmas decorations or just the fact that those Christmas projects have me thinking of things I want in our house year round.

So scoring some fun items at the thrift store has added some fun to my evenings.
(More on those later...mostly because I'm pretty sure my husband deleted my photos of my finds to film some videos for church :)

But..I do have some pretty big things in the works over here.

1. The Headboard Project.
We have purchased a beautiful bed frame from West Elm and we are waiting on the arrival of my nailheads and fabric. I was super sad to learn that my order was cancelled from Joanns, so I had to start over on that process. I'm pretty sure my grandma and grandpa would hop in their van tonight to get that headboard to me. I don't know who is more excited to see the finished result, me or grandpa? :)

2. The Painting.
I scored a huge painting at a thrift store a few weeks ago and I have big plans to put my own touch on it.

3. The Basket.
In addition to the painting I snagged a huge basket with a lid that had been dearly loved by someone (she had painted it at least 3 times and had fabric patches on it). I picture it as the perfect basket for our blankets and it is currently in my garage with two more paint colors on it! I may or may not have second guessed the colors for this project.

4. The Calendar.
I have embarked on the journey of making my own planner/calendar through Blurb.com. I am loving it and all the possibilities, but it is sucking the life and time out my evenings. More on that later.

5. The Workout.
Seth and I have started the Insanity workout and we are two weeks in, with no missed days! woo hoo! It feels awesome and although working out 6 days a week (and to the hardest workout videos I have ever done!) can be rough, we are already reaping some pretty cool rewards. Actions are louder than words though and I am just ready to feel better about myself and regain some confidence.

So my evenings have been pretty busy. I can't wait to share these results with you soon!

Intentional: Word of 2013

Although I have specific goals for the year, I have decided to pick a word...or a theme for 2013.

Intentional.

I desire to live my life in a more intentional way this year...

I want to be intentional in my relationships.
     More coffee dates
     More face to face conversations
     More friendships
More prayer for those in my life

I want to be a more intentional wife.
     More love
     More selflessness
     More support
     More trust
     More kisses

I want to be intentional regarding my health.
     More vitamins
     More workouts
     More meal planning
     More fun activities
     More challenges

I want to be intentional in my time of reflection and time in the Word.
     More music
     More quiet time
     More alone time
     More reading God's Word
More prayers for it to permeate my life.

I want to be intentional with my time.
    More reading
    More adventures
    More serving
    More listening
    More doing
    More art
